Rock out Tuesday night to punk pioneers The Germs.
They're performing at Toad's Place in Downtown New Haven. The show starts at 9 p.m. Tickets are $17.
The L.A. hardcore punk band disbanded following the suicide of lead singer Darby Crash in 1980, but have returned with Shane West as their front man, best known for his roles in "A Walk to Remember", "ER" and even more recently, "What We Do Is Secret", a biopic of Crash and his band.
If you would rather be the one on stage, head to The Space in Hamden for open mic night.
The Space is looking for original artists. Sing a song or two and be sure to sign up ASAP. After doors open at 7 p.m. songsters will perform on a first-come, first-serve basis. Tickets are $5. Smokestack and the Foothill Fury is scheduled to perform at 9 p.m.
And finally, looking for a laugh?
Why not try Tuesday Night Comedy at The Russell in Downtown Hartford. There will be prize giveaways, drink specials and live comedians who will hand over the mic to anyone brave enough to take the stage for open comedy mic.
There's no cover -- and that's no joke.
