TAKING A STROLL:  Chefs from more than two dozen New London restaurants are helping you celebrate the season with the city's annual Fall Food Stroll.  More than 40 different venues will be at your tasting and shopping disposal.  Or you can just go for a nice walk, and enjoy the scenery along New London's waterfront.  The Stroll is $30.  For a complete list of participating restaurants and shops, click here.  5:30-8:30 p.m.

ROOTING ON RAJON (and the rest of the team too):  The Boston Celtics have begun their quest for World Championship number 18, and for the first time in nearly 15 years, that journey takes them to Hartford.  Paul Pierce, Kevin Garnett and UConn's own Ray Allen will play an exhibition game at the XL Center tonight.  The C's will take on Chris Bosh and the Toronto Raptors as they gear up for the regular season.  Tickets are $18-$128.  7:30 p.m.

VERY HUSH HUSH:  Looking for an inexpensive way to treat that special someone to a night on the town?  How about dinner and a movie at the Huntington Branch Library in Shelton.  Catch the Oscar-winning period crime drama "L.A. Confidential," while enjoying dinner provided by Ristorante al di Sotto.  The evening is part of The Big Read, funded by the National Endowment for the Arts.  The night is free, but people are urged to bring a non-perishable food item to benefit the Area Congregations Together Food Bank. 6-8pm.

WHAT IS "COUNTRY PUNK?":  Head to Milford tonight to find out.  Pennsylvania native Langhorne Slim is playing at the Daniel Street Club.  Call him a singer-songwriter, or an alt-folk artist, just make sure you call him talented.  He'll be on the same ticket as Murder By Death.  The Indiana Band combines the vocal sounds of an old saloon with the strings of Hungarian folk dance and the rhythms of pure rock 'n' roll.  Tickets are $14.  8 p.m.
