MYSTERY MEAL:  Get dinner and a show Friday night in Manchester. The Adams Mill will be the scene of a Murder Mystery.  Guests will enjoy a special four course dinner including hors d'oeuvres.  Then it's time for "Poison Politics," a mystery about a senate candidate who's looking for support, but may find himself out of the running...  The evening is $41 per person.  7pm.

TAKING BACK REJECTION:  Modern Rock Hit-makers Taking Back Sunday and All American Rejects are sharing the spotlight Friday night at Mohegan Sun.  It's TBS's third time playing here in the Nutmeg State this year.  The Rejects are touring behind their third album, "When the World Comes Down."  Tickets are just $25.  7pm.

OOPS, MY BAD:  The latest comedic effort at Hartford Stage is underway.  Head to the theater to see "Mistakes Were Made," a play about a Broadway producer who gets in way over his head on his latest effort.  The show within the show is and epic about the French Revolution that turns out to be a comedy of errors (blame the French!).  The show promises to be hilariously funny.  Click here for tickets and showtimes.

RIDE THE TRAIN, THOMAS THE TRAIN:  The Essex Steam Train is an Eastern Connecticut staple.  This weekend, the train is being transformed into child-favorite "Thomas the Train Engine."  Day out with Thomas offers aspiring engineers the chance to ride the classic storybook train.  Guests will also be part of a host of other Thomas & Friends themed entertainment, including storytelling, temporary tattoos, arts & crafts and more.  And of course, you can meet Sir Topham Hatt.  Tickets are $18.  Trains depart every 45 minutes starting at 9am Saturday and Sunday.

BOLLYWOOD EAST:  For the first time ever, the Miss India Connecticut Beauty Pageant is coming to Stamford and Westover School.  Sunday night, the beauty queen hopefuls will hit the catwalk in Indian and Western dress, take part in a talent show, and have to go before the judges during a special interview.  New to this year's pageant is a focus on health and fitness (bonus points will be given to contestants with ideal body mass index).  There are categories for Miss India Connecticut (17-27 years old) and Miss Teen India Connecticut (14-16 years old)  The winners will represent the state at Miss India USA in Florida later this month.  Tickets are $30-$100.  4-8pm.

THE BLUE CURACAO RIBBON:  The best mixologists in the New Haven area will go shaker-to-shaker in the first ever Elm City Cocktail Competition on Sunday.  Bartenders from watering holes like 116 Crown, Bar 19, BAR, Bentara, Bespoke, Dolci, Heirloom, Ibiza, Leon's, and Miya's will battle at the Omni New Haven Hotel at Yale.  Each contestant will get a limited amount of time to prepare a signature cocktail for a panel of celebrity judges.  Tickets are $30.  2-4:30pm.
