GOING FISHING: Party like it's the late 90's as ska-punk heavyweights Reel Big Fish headline the "Clams & Cans" block party in Hartford Friday Night.  The evening is put on by 10 of the city's biggest bars and clubs.  There are two stages, one on Union Place and one on Ann Street, with eight of the area's best bands warming up for RBF.  Click here to purchase tickets.  5PM-2AM.

JAZZING IT UP:  Saturday brings the 2009 Jazz Festival to the Elm City.  The day will feature a number of jazz vocalists and groups performing on the New Haven Green.  There'll even be a local artist on hand creating caricatures of the musicians.  Tickets are free.  3PM-9PM.

ALPHABEATICLE:  All this month, a trio of New Haven Musicians are taking the stage at Daniel Street Club in Milford, to perform the entire Beatles catalog.  Over the course of five Sundays (this being the fourth) the group, led by Tim Palmieri, will play more than 215 songs.  But it's how they decided on their set list that's a bit on the unusual side.  It's not chronological, but alphabetical.  They started with "A Day in the Life" and will end next weekend with "You Really Got a Hold On Me."  Click here to get a look at the set lists.  Tickets are just $10.  6PM.

TO THE DOGS:  You can make a night of it in Windsor Friday night.  The Disney classic, "Lady and the Tramp" is being shown for free on the town green. But wait, there's more! Before the movie, head to Dom's Broad Street Eatery for Spaghetti and Meatballs (see the synergy?).  Then at 6:30 there's a summer concert on the green by “All-Star Dyn-O-Myte Disco Review” (don't know if that ties into the movie).  Then it's time for the big show at 8:40.  The evening will also include contests and an auction, all to benefit the Windsor Education Foundation.

SUMMER TRADITION:  It's not summertime until you've taken part in some sort of clam bake.  You'll get your chance this weekend at Lyman Orchards in Middlefield.  Celebrate the season with an evening of food and music.  The clam bake includes all the favorites, including lobster, steamers, mussels, clam chowder, corn on the cob, potatoes, and a host of other treats fresh from the grill.  Pre-sold reservations are a must.  Call 860-349-6043.  Seatings are at 4, 4:45, 5:30, 6:15, 7 and 7:45 PM.
