Thanksgiving is going to the dogs at a local kennel.

Canine guests arriving at Best Friends Pet Care will be greeted by the unmistakable aroma of turkey roasting in the lobby as the staff prepares for the holiday dinner for their boarders.

The Thanksgiving menu will include turkey-and-rice dog food topped with freshly-roasted turkey. Traditional sides of carrots and green beans will accompany the main dish, but no stuffing of mashed potatoes for the four-legged friends.

And not to fear, there is a sweet potato pie (aka, a dog biscuit) for dessert. There are Best Friends locations in Avon, Bethany, Norwalk and Rocky Hill.
