Real World Casting Director: No Pretenders

MTV has had luck casting for The Real World in Connecticut before and they are back on Tuesday, looking for new roomies for an upcoming season.

The show, which was considered the start of reality TV long before J-Woww and The Hills were making headlines and causing controversy, made a casting call stop in the Elm City for Season 25 today.

Megan Sleeper, casting director for the Real World, offered some inside information on casting.

"What we're not looking for is people who come to casting calls pretending to be something they think we're looking for, which unfortunately, a lot of people tend to do," she said. So stop being polite and just be real.

The show, which started in New York in 1992, is the longest-running program in MTV history.

"This is the true story of seven strangers picked to live in a house, work together and have their lives taped, to find out what happens  when people stop being polite and start getting real," is the premise of the show.

The open casting call will take place at Toad's Place on Tuesday, April 13 between 11 a.m. and 6 p.m.  You must be between 18 and 24.  Bring a valid ID with you and a recent photo.

Season 24, "The Real World: Back to New Orleans," is currently being filmed.  No word yet on the location of season 25.

Whoever makes it through this round will be called back for an interview later this year.
