Don't let the workweek blues get you down.

Even though it's Monday, there are still plenty of fun things to do and you can party like it’s Friday, or Saturday, night.

Enjoy happy hour off the beaten path. Hop on over to the Firebox Restaurant in Frog Hollow and enjoy discounted favorites like fried oysters and mussels. There’s also chorizo, grilled shrimp skewers and the Four Mile River Farm local knockwurst.

Wash it all down with great drink specials, such as $5 Sangria Rojas, $4 Opa-Opa Red Rock amber drafts, $6 vodka martinis and a $6 featured wine each evening.

You and your friends can also kick back and relax on the patio.

Explore your inner Beatnick at Beatnick 2000 at Café Nine in New Haven. The night combines original music with poetry.

Grab a black shirt and your beret and head over to chill with the sounds of Victoria's Secret Sauce, Christian Marrone and Colin Mason Project. Then you can hear the stuff without music from Baub Bidon and David Taylor.

There’s no cover, so the only costs will be gas and whatever you put in your mouth.

It’s summer, so shouldn’t you be enjoying baseball?

Head to New Britain Stadium and hear yourself saying, “These Cats Rock!” or “Go Defenders!”

The two local teams are playing each other at 6:35 p.m.  Just hope the weather holds up. Whether you’re grabbing a hot dog, beer or a pretzel, you’re sure to have some fun and not care that it’s only Monday.
