FASHIONABLY EARLY: Fashion's finest flocked to the theaters this week for the red carpet premiere of The September Issue this week, staring Vogue's mommy dearest, Anna Wintour, with her infamous bob and black framed sunglasses that almost never come off, even indoors. We've gotten goosebumps - fear and fashion induced - from the the trailer alone, as we imagined life behind the veil of Conde Nasty. And far as we can see, Anna - sans shades - looks stunning. Designers and cover girls gave the film rave reviews.  (Well, they better since it was all under Anna's watchful eye, who arrived with Sienna Miller on arm.) The film will be available for limited release on September 11, but until then, we suggest you begin dieting now.

REUSABLE REMINDER: We love the off-peak sales going on at Gilt nowadays, and our pick for this weekend is WallCandy. These adorable wall decals come in designs that look like they could make their way into Cynthia Rowley's Swell collection. We're most looking forward to Rococo, a chalkboard-coated majestic frame decal waiting to be rubbed onto our bathroom cabinet for daily mantras or our pantry for grocery lists. Instant organization. Check the Gilt sale at noon on Saturday (8/22/09) or order online.

LOST CAUSE: The subway system in Manhattan might be a maze for suburbanites and squinting at an underground map is so uncouth.  So lucky for you, we've staked out the chic way to be an incognito lost in translation tourist without channeling your inner-Scar-Jo. Design Hype has released their NYC Metro Cuff, a full subway-system-embossed sleek metal cuff, ready to take you from downtown to uptown and back again.  A perfect gift for any pal braving a move to the big bad city. Find online at Design Hype for only $25.

LONGING FOR LACE: We yearned for the structured lace pieces from Fall 08' Prada. We were ready to pair them with pink tulle and declare ourselves material girls. But now that jewel tones rule the runway, and black lace is edging it's way into off-the-rack designs, we can't help but feel the same way. Our fave is the tailored tie-neck blouse ($88) from White House Black Market that has felt a wave of success since Michelle Obama incorporated their pieces into her ever-chic wardrobe. We want to layer it under boxy silk linked wool suits or tuck it into our skinniest jeans under an overflow of pearls and vintage jewels. Find it at White House Black Market in South Windsor, or online.

"JUST WHAT I NEEDED" JEWELS: Looking for the fall "statement" jewelry that you can call your own? Femmegems in Greenwich has your back, opting to raid their own inventory of resin, gold, and bejeweled bold baubles or two options to create your own. Whether it's picking a pattern and colors and leaving it in the hands of their expert designers, or bringing in your old jewels and working with the Femmegems team to give it new life. Visit their location on Greenwich Ave., head into Manhattan and stop by their Chelsea studio, or order online.
