New York, NY - Head to the wonderful Picture Farm Gallery in south Williamsburg tomorrow evening to see artist Paola Citterio's brilliantly intriguing, thought-provoking works. Go for the art and stay for the party — take it from Italians on how to make the most of a night out!
About the Artist
Paola Citterio is an Italian, Brooklyn-based artist who works with natural wool fiber, using simple traditional techniques like needle felting and hand-knotted rugs as her canvas. The trance-like process involved in creating teh work--the dyeing, cutting, and knotting, and the constant repetition of gesture--often takes weeks. "People think that I am crazy," says Citterio, "to spend so much time. But I find it quietly exhilirating. I enjoy getting lost."
