Assault Hearing Postponed for Former UConn Tight End

A court hearing has been postponed for former UConn tight end Sean McQuillan on the assault charge that ended his college football career.

McQuillan had been scheduled to appear in Rockville Superior Court on Thursday morning, but a court clerk says the case was continued to Monday.

McQuillan, who was expected to be a Husky captain next season, was arrested in April after an altercation with a roommate at his off-campus apartment.

The 6-foot-3, 245-pound tight end graduated in May with a degree in economics, but was not allowed back as graduate student to complete his final year of football eligibility.

McQuillan started 11 games last season. He caught 16 passes for 158 yards and a touchdown.
