Deshon Foxx Wins AAC Honors

While Deshon Foxx is looking to become a more consistent receiver, he continues to wreak havoc on special teams. He earned American Athletic Conference Special Teams Player of the Week honors Monday for his performance against Stony Brook over the weekend.

"Foxx finished with 91 all-purpose yards and scored what proved to be the decisive points in the win," the AAC said in a statement. "Foxx had a 72-yard punt return for a touchdown in the third quarter to put the Huskies ahead 19-10. He finished the game with 85 yards on three punt returns and added a six-yard reception. Foxx ranks 14th nationally in punt return average (14.0) through two weeks of the season."

And Geremy Davis, the Huskies' best wide receiver and one of the best pass-catchers in college football no one has heard of, was named to the AAC's weekly honor roll after his six-catch, 113-yard, one-touchdown effort.

Next up: UConn hosts Boise St. at noon Saturday in a game that will be televised on ABC and ESPN2.
