UConn has Final Four fever with both the men and women’s basketball teams remaining in the running for a national NCAA title.
The UConn women are advancing to the final four after beating Texas A&M last night and the fans were going wild here Storrs as the women won their 44th game in a row.
“I know the only time both the men and women have won in the same year was 2004, and we’re the only team that’s ever done it, so it would be nice to see that again and hopefully it happens,” Patrick McLaughlin, a graduate student at UConn said.
“I think it’s an awesome way to put our school name out there. I think it’s awesome for our university and our community. I just can’t wait to see it happen.” Maggie Reiss, a senior at UConn, said.
The UConn men defeated Michigan State on Sunday to advance. They will be playing in Texas around 6 p.m. on Saturday and will take on Florida.
The women will play in Nashville on Sunday.
