Photo: New UConn Logo on Gampel Court

Back in April, UConn unveiled its new logo, which included a more intimidating Jonathan the Husky than we had all become accustomed in the previous two decades.

(Other changes included using "UCONN" across the front of every uniform across sports as part of a re-branding effort away from the school previously known as "The University of Connecticut.")

As often happens, the change was met with some resistance from fans -- just see the comments here -- then again, change is rarely embraced, especially when it's attached to so much history. But time, as they say, marches on -- whether the skeptics buy in or not. And come next season, not only will UConn be competing in the newly form American Athletic Conference, they'll do with with their new logo on what appears to be a fancy new court at Gampel Pavilion.

Details via Connor Sullivan, who, according to his Twitter bio, is "a UConn student in the Marching and Pep Bands on trumpet."

We actually like the look. And if the Huskies improve on last year's 20-win effort, we're guessing the critics of the new look will come around too.
