UConn's Zach Hurd Headed West

Just hours after we learned where Scott Lutrus would begin his NFL career, his former UConn teammate has his card punched to the pros as well.

As soon as the league opened for business Tuesday after the lockout was lifted, the Seattle Seahawks signed former UConn guard Zach Hurd, according to Yahoo Sports.

While Huskies fans know how good Hurd is, he went undrafted, and therefore had to wait until the lockout ended before being signed as a free agent. Seattle seems to know he's worth bringing on board. Hurd was ranked No. 11 on ESPN's list of undrafted free agents.

The Seahawks open training camp Wednesday.
