Restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow Ups Price of NYC Condo

After not finding a buyer for his posh Manhattan condo, restaurateur Jeffrey Chodorow decided to increase the price tag of his property, instead of chopping it like most sellers these days, reports The Wall Street Journal. The man behind restaurants such as Asia de Cuba and China Grill originally tried to unload his Trump Tower condo last April for $16.4 million and recently re-listed for a steeper $18.8 million.

According to the listing broker, the new asking price is a "discount" from other sought after luxury buildings in Manhattan such as 15 Central Park West. Discount or not, Chodorow's home is certainly lavish. He shelled out $5.4 million on three apartments in Trump Tower and spent three years combining and renovating them, which ultimately turned ten rooms into seven rooms. The swanky corner unit, located on the 38th floor, features three bedrooms, sweet views of Central Park, and a white all-marble master bathroom.

The Wall Street Journal reports that Chodorow and his fam are hoping to simplify their life and spend more time in Chodorow's home state of Florida. As for whether upping the price of his lavish digs will entice more buyers, well, only time will tell whether the restaurateur's hunch is correct.
