Denzel Washington Eying “2 Guns”

Just days before the release of "Safe House" comes word that star Denzel Washington is in talks to join Mark Wahlberg for another action film.

Washington is being sought for "2 Guns," and adaptation of the comic book of the same name, about a pair of undercover cops who plan a heist together, reported Deadline. Here's the synopsis from the comic's website:

A pulp story about cops and thieves and the men that are something in between. Trench has targeted a local bank to rob, and asked Steadman in on the job. Trench figures it's a great way to score -- considering it's a cover for mob money. They'll be thieves ripping off thieves. But what Steadman doesn't know is that Trench is a DEA agent. And what Trench doesn't know is that Steadman's a Naval Intelligence officer. They're both cops! And neither one knows that they're not robbing the mob, they've been set up to steal $50 million from the CIA!

The film is to be directed by Baltasar Kormáku, who worked with Wahlberg on the so-so caper film "Contraband," with a script by Blake Masters, who's written for the TV series "Brotherhood," " Rubicon" and "Law & Order: LA."

"Safe House," which is pretty good, opens Friday.
