First 5 Minutes of “The Disappearance of Alice Creed” Are Here for Your Viewing Pleasure

With its Aug. 6 release just a few weeks away, the first five minutes of "The Disappearance of Alice Creed" have appeared online in an effort to boost the film's profile.

We loved the movie when we caught at the Tribeca Film Festival, hailing it as a "taut, well-crafted three-person drama about a wealthy young woman held for ransom."

Part of what makes the opening -- and the rest of the film -- so great is writer-director J Blakeson (who talked to PopcornBiz this spring about how his film) throwing his audience into the action, wasting no time with unnecessary expostional dialogue. It quickly becomes clear that something bad is going to happen, what exactly is then slowly revealed.

The movie stars Gemma Arterton (who's had a rough summer thus far between "Prince of Persia" and "Clash of the Titans"), Martin Compston ("The Damned United") and Eddie Marsan (who you've seen in a dozen movies, most recently "Sherlock Holmes").
