Connecting You With the American Red Cross Blood Drive

Daniela is a sweet little girl who needs a blood transfusion every 3 weeks to stay healthy and she is not alone.

That is why NBC Connecticut is connecting you with the American Red Cross for a blood drive in Farmington on Thursday, January 5, 2017. The drive will run from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Red Cross Farmington Blood Center at 209 Farmington Avenue.

On Wednesday the Red Cross announced its blood supply had dropped to critically low levels and issued an emergency appeal for donations.

Your blood donation can help up to three people who need blood, whether in an emergency or everyday life.

To schedule an appointment, call 1-800-RED-CROSS or visit the Red Cross Blood Drive website.

In celebration of National Blood Donor Month, Dunkin’ Donuts and the American Red Cross are excited to launch the “Dunkin’ Donors Make a Difference” promotion in January. All presenting blood and platelet donors at participating Red Cross blood drives and donation centers will receive a $5 “Dunkin’ Donor” gift card.

Every two seconds someone in the U.S. needs blood, according to the American Red Cross. With this high of a demand, connect with us as we start the new year off with a strong supply of blood donations!
