Join NBC Connecticut for free paper shredding event!  It's Saturday, September 28th from 9am to noon at the Shoppes at Farmington Valley, 100 Albany Turnpike in Canton.  Shred up to five boxes of your unwanted documents for free!

What types of things might I consider shredding?
You might consider cancelled checks, credit card receipts, tax records, legal, applications, medical records, confidential information, etc.
 
What happens to the documents once they are shredded?
The destroyed documents, in the form of confetti-sized pieces, are transferred directly to a recycling facility. Once there, they return to the marketplace in the form of items such as recycled household paper products.
Do I need to sort the paper?
No. You do not need to remove the paper clips, staples or binder clips.
