Beyonce “Nervous” Ahead of Live Concert

The "Halo" singer takes fans behind the scenes of her first live performance since the birth of daughter Blue Ivy Carter.

Superstar Beyonce Knowles has revealed her nervousness ahead of her first live performance since giving birth to daughter Blue Ivy Carter in January.

“I’m excited,” said the singer and wife of Jay-Z regarding the first of a series of four Memorial Day Weekend concerts at Atlantic City’s Revel Hotel that begin Friday night.

In the behind-the-scenes video posted on her website, Knowles admits that she has been enjoying just being a mom to Blue Ivy and that returning to performing is “like going back to my old job.” Her nervousness is apparent, especially when she reveals that she has not sung live in front of an audience for almost a year.

Scenes show her in rehearsal for the concerts, doing warm-up vocal work, working out and practicing choreography with her back-up dancers. “It’s a little strange,” she said of her return to the performimg spotlight. “But it’s important that you don’t lose yourself and you still have your own passions.

“What I’m trying to say with this show is, yes, I had a baby, but I’m even more grounded,” Knowles says of her inspirations behind the show.

Ticket-holders to the sold out dates need not fear the “Single Ladies” and “Halo” singer is unprepared. A consummate professional, Beyonce makes it clear that she’s ready to take her spot onstage. “I’m back to work,” she says with a huge smile in the video. “I’m back to business!”
