Brad & Angelina Make Red Carpet Appearance At DGAs

Despite worldwide headlines rumoring their break-up, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were very much the couple at the Director's Guild of America awards in Hollywood last night.

Brangelina was there to support Brad's "Inglourious Basterds" director Quentin Tarantino on his nomination for Feature Film. While Brad was confirmed to attend, Angelina's appearance took the crowd by surprise, especially given all of the buzz that the twosome are kaput.

Brad seemed to be in a very lighthearted mood, making a humorous presentation to Tarantino that had Angie beaming proudly and laughing throughout. After presenting Tarantino with his DGA medallion for feature film nomination, Pitt and Tarantino came into the pressroom to pose for photographs. The press had been sternly warned beforehand that absolutely no questions were allowed of Pitt, who was still sporting his long gray goatee.

The couple never walked the red carpet, but photos from inside the four-hour affair showed Angelina looking gorgeous (as always) in an elegant emerald green gown, and giving a congratulatory hug to Tarantino on his nomination.

The couple did not show up together at this year's Golden Globes, where they did red carpet interviews last year, or to the SAG awards, fueling rumors that they had broken up. And the word is that Angie is not attending the Oscars because she will be working.

However, many considered it a wise decision for them to attend the DGA awards, which are much more lower profile, to show their support for the directors who have turned them into A-list stars.

This wouldn't be the first time a couple on the verge of imminent break-up appeared together. You may recall photos of Brad walking on the beach with Jennifer Aniston shortly before they separated… and Bennifer's appearance at paparazzi-haven "The Ivy" just before calling off their engagement.
