Did ‘The Cosby Show' Help Obama Win The Presidential Election?

President-elect Barack Obama had the star power of Oprah Winfrey, Matt Damon, Ben Affleck, Diddy and even Lindsay Lohan backing his campaign — but according to Bill Cosby, Obama owes part of his victory to Cliff, Clair, Sondra, Denise, Theo, Vanessa and little Rudy.

Bill believes his hit television show of the 1980s, “The Cosby Show,” helped paved the way for an African-American president.

“I can’t negate the theory that the Huxtables on ‘The Cosby Show’ may have helped pave the way for the Obama family,” Cosby told the Los Angeles Times last week.

Cosby noted that the Huxtables, who were a highly educated two-parent unit raising their children while both working, mirror the lives of the Obamas.

A 25th anniversary DVD box set of “The Cosby Show” is set to be released shortly and Cosby wondered if people would still watch.

“For all those people who said they didn’t know any black folks like the Huxtables, I wonder if they will watch the show now,” Cosby added.
