Now, the chart-topper has apologized for her seemingly insensitive remark.

"I consider it part of my life's work and music to push the boundaries of love and acceptance," Gaga said in a statement released to Perez Hilton on Thursday. "My apologies for not speaking thoughtfully. To anyone that was hurt, please know that it was furiously unintentional.

"An honest mistake, requires honesty to make," she continued, before ending the statement with a line from her platinum anthem, "Whether life's disabilities, left you outcast bullied or teased, rejoice and love yourself today."

In related news, the blond chanteuse has granted Weird Al Yankovic permission to release his "Born This Way" parody, "Perform This Way."

The comedic musician posted the audio to his parody on YouTube on Wednesday – which includes lyrics such as, "Got my straight jacket today, it's made of gold lamé, no not because I'm crazy, I perform this way!" — along with a message stating the spoof would not be available on his next album, as Lady Gaga refused to approve it.

Mere hours later, Al revealed in a blog post that there had been a mix-up.

"Apparently the fact that she didn't approve it was news to Lady Gaga herself! Gaga's manager has now admitted that he never forwarded my parody to Gaga – she had no idea at all," Al wrote in a blog titled, "Gaga Update!" on his personal website on Wednesday. "Even though we assumed that Gaga herself was the one making the decision (because, well, that's what we were TOLD), he apparently made the decision completely on his own.
