Former "Growing Pains" child star and Christian TV evangelist Kirk Cameron compared Charles Darwin, who pioneered the scientific theory of evolution, to Adolf Hitler Tuesday in a video designe to promote his upcoming college tour.

"One by one, we're being stripped of our God-given liberties," Cameron said in the 6-minute video, which referenced the upcoming 150th anniversary of Darwin's "Origin of Species" on November 21.

"An entire generation is being brainwashed by atheistic evolution without even hearing the alternative," Cameron said.

"On November 21, 2009, the world will celebrate the 150th year since the publication fo Charles Darwin's book "Origin of Species," Cameron said.

Cameron referenced his friend's study of the book, citing his friend's discovery of "Adolf Hitler's undeniable connection with the theory, Darwin's racism, his disdain for racism, and Darwin's thoughts on the existence of God," Cameron said.

Cameron promoted his friend's upcoming release of a reworked, Christian edition of "Origin of Species," which reforms the evolutionary idea to fit a gospel ideal.

Cameron will go on a college tour to promote the book among students, giving the new copy to 50,000 of America's "future lawyers, doctors and politicians."

"All we want to do is present the opposing and correct view, rather than being censored, which is exactly the case at present," Cameron said.
