Actress Jennifer Lawrence attends a special screening of "The Hunger Games: Catching Fire" at AMC Lincoln Square on Wednesday, Nov. 20, 2013 in New York.
The actors and actresses up for 2014 SAG Awards realize what an honor it is to be nominated.
Shortly after the full list of nominees was announced on Wednesday, Dec. 11, stars in varying categories wanted to publicly express their gratitude for the recognition.
Here's what they've had to say so far:
Jennifer Lawrence (Supporting Actress Nominee for "American Hustle"): "Wow. Such great news. Congratulations to the other nominees and to my fellow cast members for the film's ensemble nomination."
Matthew McConaughey (Leading Actor Nominee for "Dallas Buyers Club"): "So solid and gratifying to have this recognition from my fellow actors. Cheers to what we get to do: depict humanity and ride this wild bull called acting. With thanks and respect, I'm honored with this nomination."
Sandra Bullock (Leading Actress Nominee for "Gravity"): "Had I known being locked in a light box and dangling from a ceiling for hours on end would land me in the company of these extraordinary women, I would have done it years ago."
Chiwetel Ejiofor (Leading Actor Nominee for "12 Years a Slave"): "I couldn't be more thrilled and grateful to the Screen Actors Guild for this nomination. To be recognised for a project that I feel so passionately about means a huge amount to me. For this recognition to be from my peers, makes it even more poignant."
Lupita Nyong'o (Supporting Actress Nominee for "12 Years a Slave") - "I am incredibly honored to be recognized by fellow actors for my performance in Steve McQueen's '12 Years a Slave' and I am proud to be in the company of my fellow nominees, who are all so incredible. Being part of '12 Years a Slave' has been unlike anything I've ever experienced. I am so happy for Chiwetel, Michael and the entire cast. This nomination is something I will always cherish."
Barkhad Abdi (Supporting Actor Nominee for "Captain Phillips"): "I am incredibly honored. Thinking back to when I first heard about the casting call for this film, this is now beyond my wildest expectations. I am so thankful to every actor that voted, to our entire cast and crew, and especially to Tom Hanks and Paul Greengrass who helped to guide me so generously through the chance of a lifetime on 'Captain Phillips.'"
Kerry Washington, "Scandal": "I am truly grateful and proud to be a member of SAG/AFTRA and to be acknowledged by my peers in this way is an enormous honor."
Don Cheadle, "House of Lies": "It's always a kick to be recognized for your stuff, especially when it's by the people who know how the sausage is made. Now, please watch our damn show!!"
Jim Parsons, "The Big Bang Theory": "Thank you to the Screen Actors Guild for the most wonderful wake-up call this morning! It's an enormous honor to be recognized by your fellow actors. It is especially meaningful to be nominated alongside the rest of the 'Big Bang' cast, an incredible group of people to work with every day for the last seven years. The way our characters have been embraced by audiences is a testament to the genius writing behind 'Big Bang.'"
Mayim Bialik, "The Big Bang Theory": "This is an ‘lol' moment if ever there was one since there's not even a Supporting Actress category and it literally never occurred to me that I would be nominated for this ever ever ever. Ever.
"And to be nominated by my peers no less!? It's a tremendous honor for my fellow actors to care enough for my work to let me share the nominee title with such fine leading ladies. I thought the SAG Awards were the ones I could totally chill out about but being nominated means ten times the anxiety and ten times the anticipation and a hundred times the gratefulness. Thank you for this honor!
"But seriously, are you sure there's not some mistake!? Aaaahhhhh!"
