Bruno Mars Returns With First Single in Four Years

    After a week of hype on social media Bruno Mars released his first single in four years, "24K Magic," late Thursday night.

    The song is the first single from Mars' third studio album — also titled 24K Magic — set to drop on Nov. 18. Mars and Cameron Duddy also co-directed "24K Magic's" music video, filmed at the Fountains of Bellagio in Las Vegas, Nevada.

    "You can call it my first single," the 30-year-old musician said, "but I call it the invitation to the party."

    "24K Magic" was written and produced by Shampoo Press & Curl, with additional production by The Stereotypes.

    Mars teased his new music Thursday in a series of Tweets. "Ugghh..About that single tonight. Been a rough week, exhausted. Also, gotta pick a friend up from the airport early tmrw[sic]. Rain check???" he wrote.

    "Not only am I droppin the single tonight, imma show y'all the album cover too!! BUT WAIT, THERE'S MORE!!!!!" another tweet read.

    The singer's sophomore album, Unorthodox Jukebox, was released in 2012. It won the Grammy for Best Pop Vocal Album and spawned five hit singles: "Locked Out of Heaven," "When I Was Your Man," "Treasure," "Gorilla" and "Young Girls."

    Mars' debut album, Doo-Wops & Hooligans, was released in 2010 and has sold over 6 million copies worldwide. It too featured five hit singles: "Just the Way You Are," "Grenade," "The Lazy Song," "Marry You" and "Count On Me."

    Mars is scheduled to perform songs from his upcoming album on NBC's "Saturday Night Live" on Oct. 15.
