“Birdman,” “Boyhood” and “The Grand Budapest Hotel” Lead Critics' Choice Nominees

"Birdman," the black comedy directed by Alejandro Gonzlez Irritu and starring Michael Keaton, tops the list of nominees for the 20th Annual Critics' Choice Movie Awards.

The nominations were announced Monday, with Richard Linklater's "Boyhood" and Wes Anderson's "The Grand Budapest Hotel" trailing "Birdman's" 13 nods. Angelina Jolie's "Unbroken" returns to the award season fray with four Critics' Choice nominations after being completely shut out of the Golden Globe race.

Michael Strahan will host the Critics' Choice Awards show live from Hollywood Palladium on A&E Jan. 15 at 9 p.m. ET. Jessica Chastain, Kevin Costner and Ron Howard will each receive special awards during the ceremony.

"I am excited to host a night honoring some of the most talented people in the industry," Strahan said in a statement. "The Critics' Choice Movie Awards show paves the way for the upcoming awards season, and the best part is that the winners are selected by the very people who make a living watching and reviewing films. It doesn't get much more competitive than that."
