Kate Upton: My Schedule May Not Work for Teen Prom Date

You know the story: boy sees girl on cover of Sports Illustrated Swimsuit Issue, makes YouTube video asking her to prom, she seems down. The rest is history, right?

Jake Davidson's dream of having model Kate Upton on his arm appeared in serious jeopardy this weekend after Upton said her schedule in May "may" be too hectic. He was so close. Upton even seemed to dig the teen.

"It was so flattering," Upton, 20, told People. "The video was so cute, and I really appreciated it. There was something about it that I knew I had to respond."

Upton said on Twitter and on "Today" that she would love to go with the teen to prom but had to check her schedule. She now appears to be laying the groundwork to let him down easy. It's not him, it's her.

"I'm not sure if I'll be able to go with him or not, due to my schedule," Upton told People. "I want to, but I just don't know if I can make it work. But I really appreciated being asked; it made me feel really great."
