Prince William Gives Health Update on Pregnant Kate Middleton

Just a few days after Kate Middleton was forced to cancel her weekend trip to Malta, her husband, Prince William, happily stood in during the two-day event

"I'm sorry you've got me instead of Catherine," he joked Saturday afternoon to hundreds of onlookers. "She's very disappointed she couldn't be here today."

Middleton was asked by her doctors not to make the trip as she continues to suffer from Hyperemesis Gravidarum. The 32-year-old has been experiencing severe pregnancy sickness after announcing she was expecting her second child.

When asked by a visitor how his wife was feeling, Prince William replied, "She's so-so."

The couple's announcement that they were expecting another child came a little sooner than expected.

"Their Royal Highnesses, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, are very pleased to announce that the Duchess of Cambridge is expecting their second child," Clarence House said in a statement Sept. 8. "The Queen and members of both families are delighted with the news."

It was later revealed that Middleton was being treated by doctors at Kensington Palace. The illness often times requires additional hydration, medication and nutrients.

As his wife rests comfortably, Prince William is following through with all of his responsibilities.

In addition to meeting with the President of Malta, Prince Harry's older brother is scheduled to attend a service at Malta's St John's Cathedral. He is also expected to enjoy a boat tour of its Grand Harbour.

The two-day visit was supposed to be Kate's first official solo overseas trip. The family, however, has no problems putting her health and wellness first.

Get well soon, Kate!
