Rockefeller Tree Set to Sparkle

Packed with celebrities, performances and seasonal cheer, the lighting of the tree in Rockefeller Center is one of New York City's greatest holiday traditions.

To celebrate the 2014 lighting, NBC is bringing the sparkle to viewers across the country with "Christmas in Rockefeller Center," airing live on Wednesday, December 3 (8-9 p.m. ET).

Mariah Carey will kick things off with a rendition of her number one smash hit "All I Want for Christmas is You," before hosts Matt Lauer, Savannah Guthrie, Al Roker and Natalie Morales ("Today") introduce a lineup that includes Darius Rucker, Lady Gaga & Tony Bennett, Prince Royce, Cyndi Lauper, Seth MacFarlane, Sara Bareilles, Idina Menzel, Pentatonix, LeAnn Rimes and Trisha Yearwood.

The 82nd annual celebration will culminate in the lighting of the 85-foot tall Norway spruce from Hemlock Township, Penn. It is approximately 90 years old and weighs approximately 13 tons.

Prior to this year's primetime telecast, an additional live hour of the special (7-8 p.m. ET) will be broadcast by select NBC stations. Check local listings.
