Shooting at Miami Beach Hotel Possibly Linked to Feud Between Rappers

The Los Angeles-based rapper was in South Florida for a performance at the nightclub Story

Police are investigating an early morning shooting outside a landmark Miami Beach hotel that officials believe may have targeted vehicles associated with the rapper The Game.

According to Miami Beach Police, a grey Ford Mustang drove past the valet at the Fontainebleau Hotel shortly before 7 a.m. Friday and fired multiple shots at a Mercedes-Benz SUV and fled. No one was inside the vehicle at the time.

The rapper's manager, Wack 100, told TMZ that a black Chevy SUV that was parked next to the Mercedes SUV belongs to the rapper's crew. Wack 100 said the SUV was not hit but noted the rapper also had a white Range Rover parked about 15 feet away from where the shots were fired.

Miami Beach police spokesman Ernesto Rodriguez said he was not certain if the vehicle belonged to the 36-year-old rapper or if he was renting or borrowing it.

The Game, whose real name is Jayceon Terrell Taylor, was in South Florida for a performance at the nightclub Story. Clubgoers posted videos of social media of the Los Angeles-based rapper insulting rapper Meek Mill during the performance.

The ongoing feud between The Game and the Philadelphia-based rapper, whose real name is Robert Williams, emerged on social media and has escalated in the rappers' music.
