Vin Diesel Breaks Silence on Paul Walker's Death

"I will always love you Brian, as the brother you were... on and off screen," Diesel said.

Vin Diesel is mourning the other half of one of film's most endearing bromances.

"To live in the hearts we leave behind, is not to die," the actor quoted Thomas Campbell on his Facebook page in speaking out for the first time about the death of longtime friend Paul Walker, his costar in four of six films in the "Fast and the Furious" series.

They were on a break from shooting the latest installment of the series when Walker was killed in a single-car crash Saturday, along with the driver of the vehicle, Roger Rodas.

"Pablo, I wish you could see the world right now... and the profound impact, your full life has had on it, on Us... on me..." Diesel wrote.

"I will always love you Brian, as the brother you were... on and off screen."

Walker first played Brian O'Conner, undercover cop-nemesis turned ally of Diesel's Dominic Toretto in 2001's "The Fast and the Furious," the original film in the hit action franchise that has since gone on to earn more than $2 billion worldwide.

Production on "Fast & Furious 7" has been delayed for the time being while they figure out how to handle Walker's tragic absence. Leaked footage of the funeral of Sung Kang's Han and Gal Gadot's Gisele (the action apparently picks up after the events in "The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift") briefly made it online before being yanked down by the studio. (E! Online and Universal Studios are both members of the NBCUniversal family.)

Diesel joins castmates including Tyrese, who wept at the scene of the crash site in Santa Clarita, Calif.; Jordana Brewster, who played Walker's love interest in the series; Michelle Rodriguez; and Dwayne Johnson in paying individual respects to their fallen friend and colleague.

"Paul was an enormous presence in my life for the past fourteen years," Brewster said in a statement. "While many would be satisfied with material success it made Paul more convinced of the need to help others...I don't know anyone who lived each moment more fully and loved life more than Paul; making his loss all the more heartbreaking."

Johnson told Entertainment Weekly, "The most important thing that we had in common was the importance of family time and being a great father to our daughters. We bonded over that."
