‘The Walking Dead' Maze to Become Year-Round Attraction at Universal Studios Hollywood

"The next best thing to actually being on 'The Walking Dead'"

Universal and AMC have announced that a new "The Walking Dead" attraction will become a year-round fixture at Universal Studios Hollywood.

Set to debut this summer, the "Walking Dead" walk-through attraction will be housed in a permanent building on the upper lot and according to a press release, will feature "landscapes, special effects, props, staging, costumes and makeup" from the hit AMC series.

Using both animatronics and live performers, the cable network describes the new park attraction as "the next best thing to actually being on 'The Walking Dead.'"

Universal has used the franchise as a theme for a maze at Halloween Horror Nights. Previously, the park hosted the year-round maze Universal’s House of Horrors which closed in 2014.

Universal has not set an exact opening date for the new experience. The announcement of the new attraction comes just before Universal plans to open the "Wizarding World of Harry Potter" on April 7.

"The Walking Dead" airs Sundays on AMC.
