“Twilight” Screenwriter Hints at “Breaking Dawn” Movies

Twihards always knew and hoped that "Breaking Dawn," Stephanie Meyer's 700-page fourth book in "The Twilight Saga" was big enough for two feature films.  And now that Summit Entertainment has agreed, screenwriter Melissa Rosenberg reveals just how she plans to divide the story in two.

"I'm doing first drafts now. But I think it comes down to Bella as human and Bella as vampire," Rosenberg told Reuters in a recent interview.

The last installments of "The Twilight Saga" include a wedding between Bella and Edward, sorry Team Jacob, and Bella giving birth to a supernatural baby, part vampire, part human.  Bella also sheds her human skin, to join the rest of the Cullen clan as blood thirsty vampire.

Just how these dramatic moments would unfold in the "Breaking Dawn" movies were some questions that Rosenberg had to address before she began drafting the scripts.

"We all agreed there was probably too much for one movie," said Rosenberg to Reuters.  "So when I started getting into it I started to see, Yeah, we've got two movies here. Everybody agreed and I started approaching it as two movies," added Rosenberg to Reuters.

Rosenberg also admitted in the interview that without the series stars, Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and the rest of the cast signing on, it would be nearly impossible to go for the two movie installments.

With "Eclipse" opening on June 30, and "Twilight" mania coming to an end after the two "Breaking Dawn" movies Reuters asked the accomplished screenwriter what's next.

Rosenberg responded she has found comfort in writing about the "Twilight" world but does not plan to take on any more teen romances.
