Nicki Minaj to Join “Idol” as a Judge: Report

She'll join Mariah Carey on the panel, according to Us Weekly; the third judge isn't yet known

Nicki Minaj is joining "American Idol" as a judge, Us Weekly reported Monday.

Rap's reigning diva will weigh in on wannabe pop stars' performances alongside Mariah Carey, two sources confirmed to the magazine.

"I'm not sure the deal is completely done yet, but yes, she is definitely doing it," one of them said. The other said the plan was "100 percent confirmed."

Fox announced just last month that Carey was joining the judges panel, following a shake-up that saw Jennifer Lopez and Aerosmith's Steven Tyler bow out of the singing competition.

Who the third and final judge will be remains unclear. Long-time judge Randy Jackson is reportedly being moved to more of a mentoring role on the show.

Two names that have been reported as possibilities for the third judge have been those of Nick Jonas of the Jonas Brothers and rapper Pharrell Williams.

The Queens, N.Y.-bred, pink-loving Minaj is coming off a huge year that saw the release of her sophomore album "Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded" and that will soon see her world tour kick-off.
