Paula Deen's Housekeeper Admits Stealing from Food Network Star

Mary Alice White caught with her hand in the proverbial deep fryer

Not cool, ya’ll.

A former housekeeper of Food Network star Paula Deen copped in court last week to repeatedly stealing jewelry from the southern chef’s home, the Savannah Morning News reported on Monday.

Mary Alice White was sentenced to 18 months in the clink, followed by six years of probation, the paper said on its website.

White had been working at Deen and her hubby Michael Groover’s home in Wilmington Island, Ga. for nine months.

She was charged with theft May 5 after trying to pawn an $18,000 pair of earrings, The Associated Press reported.

In all, the Deens reported $100,000 worth of men’s and women’s jewelry missing from their home over a period of several months, according to the AP.

We’ll take a guess and say the housekeeper left Deen’s mountainous reserves of butter and sugar untouched.
