The cast of "Southland" will have to find new work.

NBC police drama "Southland" is heading to the scrap heap before it even has a chance to premiere its sophomore season.

The Warner Bros./John Wells-produced show has already six episodes shot for its new season, which a source close to the show told Access Hollywood it will indeed air, although no air date has been set at this time. The source added that cable networks have expressed interest in the show.

Although the Regina King/Benjamin McKenzie-starrer was a critical fave, its accolades were not enough to earn a place on NBC's fall 2009 schedule.

Despite the news, an Access source spotted the show filming on Thursday in Los Angeles.

Meanwhile, ABC picked up three of its freshman shows for full seasons – "Modern Family," Cougar Town" and "The Middle," a rep for the network reportedly confirmed to Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello.

And in further TV news, earlier today, CBS announced full season orders to new Tuesday break-out dramas "NCIS: Los Angeles" and "The Good Wife."
