Infinity Music Hall and Bistro Opens in Hartford

The curtains opened on Hartford's new Infinity Music Hall and Bistro on Gov. Dannel Malloy, along with other local leaders, joined hall founder and owner Dan Hicks for the red-carpeted ribbon cutting ceremony.

“To some extent I’m pinching myself,” said Malloy.

The 500-seat music hall is set to host 250 music and comedy shows a year and comes combined with a four-star restaurant and bar. The Hartford location is an extension of the Infinity Music Hall and Bistro in Norfolk, which has been in business since 2007. The governor says it's the latest business boost in the thriving Capitol City.

“Fifteen hundred [apartment] units being constructed in downtown Hartford. You look right here at Front Street, that operation was vacant three-and-a-half years ago now it’s largely filled,” Malloy said.

Hartford’s Mayor Pedro Segarra was also in attendance fresh from the opening of Naturally Dogs & Cats on Trumbull Street.

“With each opening comes more and more jobs. It creates a better mix for visitors to our community,” said Segarra.

Originally part of the iConnect pop-up program, Naturally Dogs & Cats is the second business that has signed a long-term lease to stay in Hartford. Lauren Varjabedian, who works for the city’s marketing events and cultural affairs division, says that’s the real sign of stability.

“We’ve seen large growth in people who want to grow their business in Hartford so I think we’re definitely on the up-swing,” said Varjabedian.

It is a welcomes change from the longtime lull in business development that plagued both the city and the state.

“With this relationship between state government, local government and the people of Hartford, we really have it booming again,” said Malloy.
