Detroit-raised rocker Jack White is building on a vision to blend music and manufacturing in a part of his hometown that long inspired him. The Grammy-winning singer, songwriter, guitarist, drummer and producer is overseeing the launch of a vinyl record pressing plant in the back of his Third Man Records shop north of downtown Detroit. Third Man Pressing holds its grand opening on Saturday. Hartford Yard Goats Hold National Anthem Auditions Saturday

The Hartford Yard Goats Baseball Club will hold auditions for the National Anthem over the weekend.   Singers will try out at the Spotlight Theatres on 39 Front Street in Hartford at 9 a.m. on Saturday, according to the Hartford Yard Goats’ spokesman Jeff Dooley.   Audition slots have been filled already.   The baseball team’s home opener will be played at Dunkin’ Donuts Park on Thursday, April 13.   »
