A retrial has been scheduled in the case of a reputed Hartford gang leader and murder suspect after a jury failed to reach a verdict.
Donald Raynor was arrested on 45 counts last June and held on $25 million bond for his alleged role in one murder and half a dozen attempted murders.
Documents from a grand jury last year tabbed Raynor, 29, as the ringleader of a hybrid street gang in Hartford's North End.
The gang allegedly shot people with its own "hit squad" to lay claim on its territory and was the main source of heroin for hundreds.
Raynor's attorney, Norm Pattis, said Tuesday afternoon his client is "delighted, but disappointed there was not an acquittal."
Raynor is by no means a free man with this hung jury. A retrial has already been scheduled for Feburary and Raynor still faces half a dozen other pending cases for attempted murder.
