A boat capsized Saturday evening after a 76-year-old man suffered a heart while sailing off the coast of Stratford.

Two elderly men were sailing off of the seawall in the Lordship section of town around 4:00 p.m., when one of the men suffered a heart attack and their boat capsized, police said.

The town's marine unit retrieved the men and transported them both to shore, said police. Stratford EMS transported the 76-year-old man to Bridgeport Hospital where he was pronounced dead at 5:30 p.m.

Police are not releasing the men's names at this time. The other man was not injured.
