Guard Members Get Warm Welcome Home

They spent the last 7 months in Afghanistan.

23 members of the Connecticut National Guard are back home after spending the last 7 months in Afghanistan.

Members of the 103rd Civil Engineers Squadron landed Monday night at the base in East Granby with a large crowd of families and friends there to welcome them home.

They deployed to Afghanistan last August so the reunion was filled with emotions.  "It's been a long time seeing the little one grow up and he left when he was this big so it's very exciting," said Jada Sifuentes whose husband is an airman.

The was one of the units Governor Malloy visited during his trip to Afghanistan in November.
