Mohegan Wins Fight Over $1.2M Debt: Report

They say the house always wins.

Now, it looks like Mohegan Sun Casino has won its battle with a cable TV executive over a reported $1.2 million gambling debt.

Jerome Powers is in discussions to pay the debt in full, reports The New York Post.

Mohegan Sun sued Powers for the money in 2009. He claims the credit agreement he signed is invalid under state law because the sovereign Mohegan Tribe runs the casino.

The casino accuses Powers of writing six checks, all of which a bank returned, reports The Day in New London. The checks ranged in amounts from $60,500 to $465,000.

Powers is the CEO of PlumTV, a lifestyle network catering to people in markets like The Hamptons and Martha's Vineyard.
