Enhanced security measures at Rentschler Field mean fans heading for Saturday's UConn-Rhode Island football game should prepare for not just touchdowns but patdowns.
"We're phrasing it as a pat-down search in response to national security directives," said Bob Crawford of Northland, the stadium management company. "We're putting it out there that each and every patron will be subject to a pat-down search, but it's not an invasive thing. These are professionals, they know how to do it so that no one's going to be uncomfortable with it."
