A forklift struck the worker while the man was walking up an incline near a residence hall and student center. He was rushed to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The forklift operator was backing up when it happened, police said.
A school spokesman initially indicated he did not believe the injures were life threatening but fire officials said his injuries were serious. The man, an employee of O&G Industries, subsequently died as a result of the incident.
