As torrential rain flooded Mystic Wednesday, Mohegan Sun cut the ribbons on new restaurants, hoping for a flood of customers.

"That's the beauty of it," said Mitchell Etess, Mohegan Sun chief executive officer. "The average price of a hamburger at Bobby Flay's is just $6.50."

Besides Bobby Flay's and the Original Soupman,  Frank Pepe's Pizzeria Napoletana opened a restaurant.

Owner Francis Rosselli compared the challenge of branching out to the challenge his grandparents took on of opening on Wooster Street.

"The quality's already there," he said.

Mohegan Sun is also offering two for one buffets and special deals on hotel rooms, plus more low-limit tables for gamblers than ever.
