It’s going to be more difficult to save money and live better for customers of the Walmart in on Farmington Avenue in New Britain. It will close on Aug. 31.

The store closing was a business decision because the store was not meeting expectations, company officials said.

The company is meeting Wednesday with the more than 160 employees to counsel them on their options. The workers will all be eligible to apply with nearby Walmart locations for other jobs, but they won't say how many job openings there are in the other locations, including Hartford, Newington and Bristol.
