Snack maker, Pepperidge Farm is expanding its presence in Norwalk.

On Monday, the company will break ground on a $30 million innovation center.  The 34,000-square-foot building will house the company’s research and upgrade the existing headquarters.

According to Campbell Soup Company, the innovation center will house a state-of-the-art pilot plant with product development and testing lines, culinary kitchens, scientific labs and meeting rooms.

Construction is expected to be completed by the fall of 2012.
