First Subway started serving breakfast, now the Milford-based national chain is trying out a new concept -- the new Subway Café.

The new restaurants will have flat-screen TVs, stuffed chairs, pastries and bistro sandwiches, the Hartford Business Journal reports.

The new décor is being tested in Washington, D.C. and Flagstaff, Arizona and Subway hopes to lure coffee drinkers and the breakfast crowd from its competitors and to get them to spend more time just hanging out.

The franchises offering the new café will also have a seating area with electrical outlets for people who are looking for a place to sit and work with Wi-Fi access.

In addition to the 6-inch and foot-long subs, you’ll find blueberry crumb cake and chocolate chunk muffins.
