While Republicans swept elections victories on Tuesday night, Connecticut voters re-elected all Democratic incumbents and will fill Sen. Chris Dodd's seat with Democrat Richard Blumenthal.
U.S. Rep Jim Himes won Connecticut’s 4th District, defeating Republican Dan Debicella.
The Greenwich Post reports that Debicella conceded, saying that the Bridgeport results would be too much for him to overcome.
The results from Bridgeport are trickling in later than the rest of the municipalities after 12 precincts ran out of ballots, photocopied them and ordered more. After an emergency hearing, the poll times were extended until 10 p.m., two hours later than other polls in the state.
The problem, according to the Secretary of the State's office, was that elections officials ordered far too few ballots – less than one for every three registered voters in the state’s largest city, which is also a Democratic stronghold. The votes are being counted by hand tonight.
Connecticut voters chose Democrat Richard Blumenthal over Republican Linda McMahon, Democrat U.S. Rep. John Larson for the 1st District, Democrat U.S. Rep. Joe Courtney for the 2nd District and Democrat U.S. Rep. Rosa DeLauro for the 3rd District.
In the 5th District, Democrat U.S. Rep. Chris Murphy has defeated Republican challenger Sam Caligiuri.

The only statewide race still to be decided is governor, where Democrat Dan Malloy and Republican Tom Foley have been running neck-and-neck. This race could very well come down to voters in Bridgeport.
